From the universe of ‘Night Of The Living Dead’ by George A. RomeroTubi brings a new zombie film, ‘Festival of the Living Dead’, set in modern-day 50 years after the original zombie attack. The film pays homage to the 1968 classic with a touch of morbid nostalgia. Tubi released the trailer for the upcoming sequel, giving a sneak peek into the film. ‘Festival of the Living Dead’ will stream on Tubi on April 5.

The franchise’s latest installment is helmed by Canadian filmmaker sisters Jen & Sylvia Soska. The story unfolds 50 years after the original zombie attack, ‘Night of the Living Dead’. Ash and her friends decide to attend the Festival of the Living Dead, hoping to have some fun. However, their plans are disrupted when a blast of radioactive space dust hits the festival, resulting in a sudden outbreak of the living dead. Now, they must fight for their lives or risk being devoured by the living dead.

Bloody Disgusting has exclusively debuted the trailer for the sequel to the classic horror film ‘Night of the Living Dead’. The Soska sisters tweet, “The film is a sequel to Romero’s masterpiece original Night of the Living Dead—the story follows Ben’s grandchildren 55 years after the incident.” 

‘Living Dead’ had several sequels, such as ‘Dawn’ and ‘Day of the Dead’. However, they were sequels in name only, as they followed entirely new sets of characters in completely different locations. 

Enlighten Content produces the ‘Festival of the Living Dead’, while Ashley Moore (I Know What You Did Last Summer) and Camren Bicondova (Gotham) will lead the film. The other stars starring are Andre Anthony (The Night Agent), Christian Rose, Shiloh O’Reilly, Gage Marsh (You Me Her), Keana Lyn Bastidas (The Hardy Boys) and Maia Jae Bastidas (Rabbit Hole). The script was penned by Helen Marsh and Miriam Lyapin, with Jacob Nasser (Game of Deceit) at the helm as producer.
