‘Atlas’ Trailer: Netflix Sci-fi drama feature Jennifer Lopez

Netflix’s Sci-fi drama launching on May 24, filmmaker Brad Peyton’s pic follows Atlas Shepherd (Lopez), a brilliant data analyst with a deep distrust of artificial intelligence who finds it may be her only hope when a mission to capture a renegade robot awry.

‘Atlas’ is directed by Brad Peyton (Rampage) from a script by Leo Sardarian and Aron Eli Coleite. Producers include Peyton, Lopez, Jeff Fierson, Joby Harold, Tory Tunnell, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, Benny Medina, Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter. Executive producers are Samson Mücke and Michael Riley McGrath.

In the trailer for Atlas, the opening subtitle reads, “The future of humanity is in her hands.” The trailer also shows dramatic footage of Lopez shouting, “Fire thrusters now!” “Mission control, this is Atlas Shepherd. Do you hear me?”

Atlas’ features Simu Liu, Sterling K. Brown, Gregory James Cohan, Abraham Popoola, Lana Parrilla and Mark Strong. 

Lopez starred in Netflix’s 2023 action thriller The Mother as the main lead. Over its debut weekend, the film had viewers in over 2.8M U.S. households, according to L+2D data from Samba TV. Other recent acting credits include Shotgun Wedding and Marry Me. 

Brown was last seen in Cord Jefferson’s American Fiction, for which he was Oscar-nominated. He is also well-known for his work on the FX series The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story (2016) and the NBC drama series This Is Us.

Liu is best known for his role as Shang-Chi in Marvel’s film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and as one of Greta Gerwig’s eager Ken dolls in the billion-dollar smash Barbie
