Crunchyroll released the new trailer for the highly anticipated sequel, ‘Black Butler: Public School Arc.’ Catch up with the dark and immersive storyline. This dark fantasy is written and illustrated by Yama Toboso.
Black Butler: Public School Arc is directed by Kenjiro Okada at Cloverworks. Hiroyuki Yoshino wrote the series, and Yumi Shimizu designed the characters. The series promises to captivate audiences anew with its dark and immersive storyline.
Black Butler: Public School Arc will start airing on April 13, 2024. The episodes will be broadcast on TOKYO MX and other stations every Saturday. Crunchyroll will stream the series in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and the CIS as it airs. The English dub is expected to arrive shortly later.

‘Black Butler: Public School Arc’ is a continuation of Ciel Phantomhive’s story in Victorian-era London. The story follows Earl Ciel Phantomhive, an aristocrat and his demon butler, Sebastian Michaelis. In the next anime arc for the Black Butler series, Ciel will dip back into his education at Queen Victoria’s request, telling him several students at Weston College, one of England’s top public schools, have seemingly disappeared, including a relative of hers named Derrick. Sebastian and Ciel infiltrate Weston College to investigate the matter.
Black Butler was first announced during the Anime Expo in 2023. Later, at Aniplex Online Fest 2023, the visual trailer for the Black Butler: Public School arc was released, featuring the P4 of Weston College and a visual of the students.
The original Black Butler, written by Yana Toboso, was first published in 2006 in Square Enix’s G Monthly GFantasy manga magazine, with volume 34 of the manga releasing on April 26 in Japan. An English language version is also available from Yen Press.
Black Butler anime, first produced by A-1 Pictures, released three seasons and OVAs between 2008 and 2014. The first anime adaptation, directed by Toshiya Shinohara, premiered in 2008, followed by Black Butler II, directed by Hirofumi Ogura in 2010. Black Butler: Book of Circus and the Black Butler: Book of Murder OVA, directed by Noriyuki Abe in 2014, and the Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic anime film in 2017. The series also inspired a live-action film in 2014.
