BOY SWALLOWS UNIVERSE: ‘THE ORIGINAL’ AND ‘ THE VAMPIR DAIRIES’ ACTRESS PHEOBA TONKIN PLAYS THE ROLE OF BAD MOTHER.
Netflix released the teaser of a new upcoming limited series, a substantial Australian scripted show. Adapted from one of the best-selling novels of the same name written by Trent Dalton.
Writer Dalton and screenwriter John Collee collaborated to bring the adaptation to Netflix. The creative team was backed by producers Joel Edgerton, Troy Lum, and four others. The series was directed by Emmy nominee Bharat Nalluri, alongside Jocelyn Moorhouse and Kim Mordaunt.
The series stars Travis Fimmel, Simon Baker, and Phoebe Tonkin.
The story revolves around a 12-year-old boy with a lost father, a mute brother and a drug addict recovering mom. A young boy already had a hard time with a fractured family. Another twist in the story occurs when his step-father, who is a heroin dealer with a criminal background, comes to babysit him. The young boy faces the harsh realities of life, encountering danger threatening his family’s safety.
The series will be released in seven episodes on Netflix Premiere on January 11th.
