DreamWorks Animation’s ‘The Wild Robot’

The Wild Robot

Universal Pictures released the first trailer for The Wild Robot. DreamWorks Animation comes with a new adaptation of a literary sensation. Universal Pictures distributes The Wild Robot across worldwide.

The pic is based on Peter Brown’s 2016 illustrated middle-grade novel, which won a Caldecott Honor and hit No. 1 on the New York Times bestseller list. The movie follows the epic journey of a robot—ROZZUM unit 7134, “Roz” for short — that is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must learn to adapt to the harsh surroundings, gradually building relationships with the animals on the island and becoming the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling.

“A thrilling exploration of the connection between technology and nature, the discovery of self, and what it truly means to be alive and connected to all living things.”

“The Wild Robot” is a movie directed by Chris Sanders, a three-time Oscar nominee known for his work in DreamWorks Animation’s “How to Train Your Dragon”, “The Croods”, and Disney’s “Lilo & Stitch”. The film is produced by Jeff Hermann, who has previously worked as a co-producer for the “Kung Fu Panda” franchise and is also the producer of DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming movie “The Boss Baby 2: Family Business”.
