The trailer provides a sneak peek into Vincent’s (played by Cumberbatch) difficult phase of life where he is struggling to come to terms with the loss of his son, Edgar. His nine-year-old son goes missing on the way to school, to which he blames & outrages himself for letting him go alone. He filled with self-hatred and burdened with guilt over Edgar’s disappearance. Despite all the efforts made to find him, the outcome remains unprogressive. Vincent finds solace in his drawings of a blue monster puppet named Eric.

Since he is a puppeteer in the children’s show, he comes up with the idea of getting Eric on TV, hoping it will lead to Edgar’s safe return. Eric, his imaginary friend, becomes his only ally in his journey to bring his son home.
