The story dates back to the 1970s – 80s and follows the real-life events of an ambitious Colombian businesswoman, Griselda Blanco, a woman of substance who created the most profitable cartels in history.
Griselda fled from Medellín to Miami with her sons and a kilo of cocaine. Within three 3-years, she took over the underworld of Miami, Florida, with a massive supply of cocaine. Soon, she built a powerful drug empire and gained the reputation of ‘Cocaine Godmother.’
A devoted mother, Blanco’s lethal blend of charm and unsuspecting savagery helped her expertly navigate between family and business, earning her the nickname widely known as the ‘Black Widow’.
Griselda is a mini-limited series released in six parts. It was streaming on Netflix on January 25th. Starring Sofía Vergara,Alberto Guerra and Christian Tappan.
