NETFLIX BRINGS THE UNEXPECTED CHEMISTRY BETWEEN THE HITMAN AND ITS CLIENT STARRING GLEN POWELL.
Netflix launched the trailer of an upcoming film, Hit Man directed by Academy Award-nominee Richard Linklater, also the co-writer alongside Powell. The actor Powell, well-known for his fighter pilot role in Top Gun: Maverick, returns with the role of Gray Johnson, a fake hitman.
The film is a mixture of noir, romance, and thriller genres, entirely covered with a suspenseful plot. Hit Man was presented at the Venice Film Festival in September and currently has a 96 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes from its festival screenings.
Powell and Linklater co-wrote the screenplay. The film is inspired by an unbelievable true story: a Texas Monthly article by Skip Hollandsworth.
Netflix has announced their upcoming movie to be released on Friday, June 7, 2024, with limited theatrical screening and simultaneous streaming service debut.
The movie portrays the story of an initial attraction between a fake hitman, Gray Johnson (Powell) and his potential client, Madison. She approaches the hitman to eliminate her abusive husband. However, things take an unexpected turn when the hitman falls in love with Madison, and it leads to a dangerous web of deceit, excitement, and mistaken identities.
The chemistry between Glen Powell’s character, Gary Johnson, a professor-turned-tech specialist working undercover, and Adria Arjona’s character, Maddy Masters, a Johnson’s client.
Other cast members are Austin Amelio as Jasper, Retta as police officer Gary, Sanjay Rao as a police officer, Evan Holtzman as Ray Masters (Maddy’s husband), Molly Bernard, and Mike Markoff.
