Warner Bros. Pictures has released a new trailer for ‘Horizon: An American Sage’, a Western by Kevin Costner that delves into the epic Civil War saga, set to make its world premiere this Saturday at the Cannes Film Festival, will be hitting theaters in two parts — the first chapter will be released on June 28 and the second chapter will be released on August 16.
Reportedly, Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema’s upcoming film, Horizon: An American Saga, is backed with three more chapters. As mentioned above, the second will be released in August, and pre-production for the third will start later this month. As for the fourth chapter, there is no word from the officials yet. Per Variety, it has nearly sold worldwide, with only a few territories left ahead of its world premiere at the 77th Cannes Film Festival (out of competition) on May 19.
‘Horizon: An American Sage’ is a compelling narrative penned by Costner and Jon Baird (The Explorers Guild). It takes us on a journey through the lure of the Old West, a time when the country was won and lost through the blood, sweat, and tears of many. Spanning the four years of the Civil War, from 1861 to 1865, the movie offers an emotional exploration of a country at war with itself, experienced through the lens of families, friends, and foes all attempting to discover what it truly means to be the United States of America.
Costner serve as director and actor in the film. Additionally, he also produced alongside Howard Kaplan and Mark Gillard, with Danny Peykoff, Robert Scannell, Armyan Bernstein, Charlie Lyons, Barry Berg, and Rod Lake exec producing.
