Mickey Mouse has entered the public domain, which allows independent creators to experiment with the beloved character as he appeared in the 1928 short film Steamboat Willie.
The upcoming American horror comedy film is directed by Jamie Bailey, written by Simon Phillips, and produced by Jamie Bailey and Mem Ferda. It is a reimagining of Walt Disney’s 1928 animated short film Steamboat Willie.
The first trailer of the movie was released on January 2nd. The trailer portrays the film as a horror game, a fun place for friends to hang out, and a place for hunting. It shows a scene where a mouse comes out hunting the friends.
PLOT:
On Alex’s 21st birthday, she’s stuck on an amusement arcade when her friends decide to surprise her. They sneak into the arcade after the closing time and end up trapped by the masked killer, who is dressed as Mickey Mouse, who decides to play a horror game of his which group of friends must survive to live.
The official date of release has yet to be announced. It’s estimated to release in March 2024
