Netflix has been expanding its entertainment universe, not limiting to any particular genre or region. In addition, Netflix serves as a production house for an upcoming Japanese action drama.
“House of Ninjas” feature director of the series Dave Boyle with the screenplay of Masahiro Yamaura, Kota Oura and Kanna Kimura. Netflix production through Toho Studio with Kanbe Akira funding it along with the Executive Producer Yoshihiro Sato(Netflix).
The series will star Kaku Kento, who will also serve as co-executive producer. Other cast include Eguchi Yosuke, Kimura Tae, Kora Kengo, Makita Aju and Miyamoto Nobuko.
What to expect from “House of Ninjas”?
House of Ninjas is a captivating tale about the last surviving Ninja family, who have been living in the shadows for years. The story portrays Ninjas as mythological figures or at least as belonging to the past. They were once considered legendary heroes, famous for their unique fighting style, ambush attacks, and ferocious combat skills.
The story takes place in modern-day Japan and focuses on the Tawara family, the only surviving Ninja clan that lives in secrecy. After a failed plan in the past, the clan has renounced its traditional ways and vowed never to use their powers again. However, the family must confront the biggest crisis in Japanese history, one that could potentially shake the nation to its core and leave them with no option but to come out of hiding and save humanity.
When will “House of Ninjas” stream on Netflix?
The first episode is set to stream on Netflix on February 15.
Netflix is keeping up with Japanese content and features incredible talent worldwide.
In March of last year, Netflix announced that it had signed a long-term lease for studio space in Tokyo, Japan, which was intended to be used for local production. In September, the company established a creators’ lounge, complete with an artist in residence, to further embed itself in the animation industry. Finally, in October 2021, Netflix revealed that it had entered into content agreements with both Tokyo Broadcasting System and Nippon TV, the owner of Hulu Japan.
