New Superhero animated ‘Ultraman: Rising’ Trailer

Netflix has just unveiled a thrilling new animation trailer for “Ultraman: Rising”, a project helmed by the talented Shannon Tindle, known for his work on Kubo and Lost Ollie. This series, based on the iconic Japanese superhero character Ultraman, created by the visionary Eiji Tsuburaya, who also happens to be the creative mind behind Godzilla, is set to ignite your screens this summer. Mark your calendars for the exciting release date of June 14, 2024, when it will be available for streaming worldwide on Netflix.

“Ultraman: Rising” takes us on a unique journey with baseball superstar Ken Sato, who returns to his homeland, Japan, to take up the mantle of Earth’s defender, Ultraman. But his hero’s journey takes an unexpected turn when he’s tasked with raising the offspring of his arch-nemesis. This twist sets the stage for a gripping narrative, where Ken must navigate the challenges of parenthood, his complicated relationship with his father, and the relentless Kaiju Defense Force to truly understand what it means to be ‘Ultraman.’

With Tokyo under siege from rising monster attacks, baseball star Ken Sato reluctantly returns home to take on the mantle of Ultraman. But the titanic superhero meets his match when he is forced to adopt a 35-foot-tall, fire-breathing baby kaiju. Sato must rise above his ego to balance work and parenthood while protecting the baby from forces bent on exploiting her for their own dark plans.

The production of “Ultraman: Rising” has been a collaborative effort. The movie has been in development for years at ILM, with the VFX house handling most of the key animation. Netflix Animation and Tsuburaya Productions have also played significant roles. Netflix has a partnership with Tsuburaya Productions and Industrial Light & Magic. 

The movie is penned by Shannon Tindle and Marc Haimes, directed by Shannon Tindle, and co-directed by John Aoshima. The original song credit goes to Diplo and Oliver Tree. It stars Christopher Sean, Tamlyn Tomita, Gedde Watanabe, Keone Young, and Julia Harriman. This animated movie is family-friendly, and children are the main target audience. The superheroic plot and storyline are surely going to captivate young viewers.
