“Teacup” is a horror thriller series that takes inspiration from the New York Times bestselling novel “Stinger” (1988) by Robert McCulloch. Yvonne Strahovski, best known for her role in “The Handmaid’s Tale”, is in the lead and also serves as a producer in this series.

“Teacup” created by writer Ian McCulloch (Yellowstone) and produced by James Wan’s production company Atomic Monster. The show’s first episode will be directed by E.L. Katz, who will also executive produce alongside James Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett on behalf of Atomic Monster. Additionally, Francisca X. Hu, Kevin Tancharoen, and McCammon will serve as executive producers, while Danielle Bozzone will oversee the production for Atomic Monster. UCP is the studio behind the production of Teacup.

Peacock, the network behind “Teacup,” describes the show as follows: “Teacup follows a disparate group of people in rural Georgia who must come together in the face of a mysterious threat in order to survive.” Peacock gave the project a series order in late 2022 after several months of development.

As previously announced, cast member Yvonne Strahovski will be playing the character of Maggie Chenoweth and will be joined by Scott Speedman as James Chenoweth and Chaske Spencer as Ruben Shanley. Other cast members include Kathy Baker (“Picket Fences,” “Edward Scissorhands”) as Ellen Chenoweth, Boris McGiver (“For Life,” “House of Cards”) as Donald Kelly, Caleb Dolden (“The Requiem Boogie,” “Single Parents”) as Arlo Chenoweth, Emilie Bierre (“A Colony,” “The Guide to the Perfect Family”) as Meryl Chenoweth, and Luciano Leroux (“Yellowjackets,” “A Million Little Things”)  as Nicholas Shanley.
