‘Presumed Innocent’ Trailer:  Jake Gyllenhaal Leads Apple TV+ Miniseries

Apple TV+ is set to thrill audiences with a new legal series, ‘Presumed Innocent’, featuring the highly anticipated return of Oscar nominee Jake Gyllenhaal to the small screen. This marks his first leading role in a television series in three decades, since his debut in a 1994 episode of Homicide: Life on the Street. The trailer for this limited series has just been released, sparking excitement among fans. Check it out below!

‘Presumed Innocent’, a limited mini-series, will premiere on Wednesday, 12 June, with its first two episodes airing.

The trailer opens with a voice-over of Gyllenhaal’s Rusty Sabich, saying, “Love isn’t what people tell you that it is. In my experience, it’s just something that grows. Until one day, you find yourself needing someone.” It’s the beginning of a steamy affair that ends up with Gyllenhaal’s Rusty looking guilty of murder. But is he?

Inspired by Scott Turow’s 1987 novel,  before this Apple TV+ adaptation, the novel was first adapted into a film in 1990, which starred Harrison Ford as Rusty Sabich. The latest adaptation version is a spiced-up reimagination of multi-Emmy Award winner Kelley, exploring obsession, sex, politics, and the power and limits of love as the accused fights to hold his family and marriage together.

‘Presumed Innocent’ features Gyllenhaal as Chief Deputy Prosecutor Rusty Sabich, who is charged with a horrific murder of his close colleague where every piece of evidence upends in his direction. The story is surrounded by a gripping murder mystery that promises to deliver a thriller journey for Gyllenhaal’s character and may surprise us with an unexpected ending.

David E. Kelley serves as the series’s writer, executive producer and showrunner. Abrams and Rachel Rusch Rich are executive producers for Bad Robot. Kelley oversees David E. Kelley Productions as an executive producer alongside Matthew Tinker. Gyllenhaal, Dustin Thomason, and Sharr White also serve as executive producers, while Turow and Miki Johnson are co-executive producers.

The series is helmed by directors Anne Sewitsky and Greg Yaitanes, with Sewitsky also serving as the executive producer. The stellar cast includes Ruth Negga, Bill Camp, Elizabeth Marvel, Renate Reinsve, Peter Sarsgaard, O-T Fagbenle, Chase Infiniti, Nana Mensah, Kingston Rumi Southwick, Matthew Alan, and Lily Rabe, who are sure to bring their A-game to the screen. With such a powerhouse team, both behind and in front of the camera, ‘Presumed Innocent’ is set to captivate audiences.
