The upcoming animated film ‘Robert Dreams’ is written and directed by award-winning filmmaker Pablo Berger, known for his work from Blancanieves. Based on the famous graphic comic of the same name by Sara Varon, which was primarily targeted at younger audiences.
Three production houses distributed the film– Neon, Rotten Tomatoes and Madman Films.
The movie premiered at the 2023 Cannes & Annecy Film Festival last year. The dialogue-free movie presents a delightful short tale of friendship and connection in NYC in the ’80s.
DOG living in Manhattan and he’s tried of being alone. One day, while watching TV, he saw an ad for artificial robots, ordered parts, and built himself a ROBERT companion. Their friendship blossomed until they became inseparable, to the rhythm of ’80s NYC. One summer night, DOG, with great sadness, is forced to abandon the ROBERT companion, who unfortunately sinks on the sea beach.
