SPY X FAMILY CODE: WHITE RELEASE DATE ANNOUNCED

Sony Pictures and Crunchyroll have announced the theatrical release of Spy x Family Code: White. The anime series was released in Japan last winter and has been immensely successful there since, with box office earnings of US$30.6 million. It will soon be released internationally, and we hope the film will attain much more success worldwide.

Spy x Family Code: White serves as the very first film of its series, an original story written by Tatsuya Endo, which has been renowned in the criteria of best-selling manga from past 2017. Unlike the series, the upcoming spin-off movie will deviate from the original manga, which makes it an excellent watch for newcomers to the franchise.

Takashi Katagiri directs the anime film Spy x Family Code: White, which is being developed by Wit Studio and CloverWorks in collaboration with production studio Toho Animation, the latter known for their work on popular series such as Jujutsu Kaisen and Dorohedoro. The executive producers of the show are Akifumi Fujio and Kazutaka Yamanaka, while the script and screenplay are being handled by Ichiro Okouchi. Kyoji Asano is serving as the chief animation director for the series.

It has been reported that the original voice cast from the Spy x Family series has returned for the new film Spy x Family Code: White. The major character voice cast includes Takuya Eguchi as Loid Forger, an elite spy; Saori Hayami as Yor Forger, Loid’s “pretend” wife; Atsumi Tanezaki as Anya Forger, Loid and Yor’s adopted daughter, and Ken’ichirô Matsuda as the voice of the family pet dog.

Other supporting cast features Kenshô Ono as Yuri Briar, Yūko Kaida as Sylvia Sherwood, Hiroyuki Yoshino as Franky Franklin, Kazuhiro Yamaji as Henry Henderson, Emiri Kato as Becky Blackbell, Ayane Sakura as Fiona Frost, and Natsumi Fujiwara as Damian Desmond.

What is Spy x Family Code: White about?

The plot revolves around a pretend family consisting of a spy (Loid), an assassin(Yor), and their telepath-adopted daughter (Anya). Loid and Yor try to keep their secret lives hidden while maintaining the facade of being the perfect family. However, their daughter Anya, who has telepathic abilities, knows their exciting secrets without their knowledge. While pretending to take their family on a weekend winter getaway, Loid’s attempt to progress on his current mission, Operation Strix, becomes complicated when Anya mistakenly gets involved. In addition, she gets mixed with the military, and her actions trigger events that threaten world peace.
