Here’s the official synopsis:
Academy Award-winner Russell Crowe stars as Anthony Miller, a troubled actor who begins to unravel while shooting a supernatural horror film. His estranged daughter, Lee (Ryan Simpkins), wonders if he’s slipping back into his past addictions or if there’s something more sinister at play.

The Exorcism is a film from writer-director Joshua John Miller. Miller, known for his work on the hit series Queen of The South and the critically acclaimed The Final Girls, teamed up with co-writer M.A. Fortin on The Exorcism, their second film together. Miller began his decades-long career in Hollywood with a role in Kathryn Bigelow’s vampire genre favourite, Near Dark. With such a successful track record, audiences can expect nothing less than a thrilling and well-crafted horror film.

“With The Exorcism, we wanted to update the possession movie formula (‘Heroic man rescues woman from forces she’s too weak and simple to battle herself!’) for a world where no one group owns goodness and decency over another,” said Miller. “We were gifted with an extraordinary cast and creative team to tell a story about how we’re all vulnerable to darkness, to perpetuating it, if we fail to face our demons.”

Additional cast members include Sam Worthington (Avatar: The Way of Water), Chloe Bailey (Praise This), Adam Goldberg (The Equalizer), David Hyde Pierce (Frasier), Adrian Pasdar (Near Dark), Tracey Bonner (The Beanie Bubble) and Josh Warren (Footloose).

The Exorcism will see an exclusive theatrical release beginning on June 7.
