‘The Runarounds’ series from Skydance Television

The real-life band’s members to star in the series inspired by their story.

Prime Video has ordered The Runarounds series, produced by Skydance Television and created by Jonas Pate, with a teleplay from David Wilcox. The new eight-episode series will premiere on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

The Runarounds is a fictional YA drama inspired by the real band of the same name. Stars the real-life band’s members—William Lipton, Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Zendé Murdock, and Jesse Golliher—along with Lilah Pate and Kelley Pereira.

The series follows a group of young adults from different backgrounds who form a rock band after graduating from high school. Set in Wilmington, North Carolina, the show explores their challenges as they decide between giving in to the pressures of adulthood or pursuing their dream of becoming the greatest band in history.

Jonas Pate, who directed the pilot episode in 2022, will also be an executive producer of The Runarounds. The other executive producers are David Wilcox, Joon Yun, Josh Pate, Shannon Burke, Lisa Mae Fincannon, and Scott Lambert. Skydance Television’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell are also involved in the show’s production.

Skydance Television is collaborating with Amazon MGM Studios and Prime Video on its fifth project, a new series. The previous successful projects include Reacher and Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, the upcoming Cross and the recently announced action-adventure series featuring Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham.
