The first trailer for “The Strangers: Chapter” 1 has been released. It’s a reboot of Bryan Bertino’s 2008 psychological horror movie The Strangers”. The upcoming installment pays tribute to the original film, featuring a similar plot where three people terrorize a couple.
The third film, “The Strangers: Chapter 1”, supplements “The Strangers” franchise. The original movie “The Strangers” was released in 2008, with Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman as the main characters who were targeted by masked killers who broke into their home. It was followed up with the sequel, titled “The Strangers: Prey at Night,” which was directed by Johannes Roberts and starred Bailee Madison, Lewis Pullman, Christina Hendricks, and Martin Henderson as the victims.
The upcoming movie trailer features Madelaine Petsch (Riverdale) and Froy Gutierrez (Teen Wolf) as a couple celebrating their anniversary. However, their romantic getaway turns into a nightmare when a group of masked killers invades their vacation home.
Director Renny Harlin, well-known for “Die Hard 2” and “Cliffhanger”, directs the new trilogy in “Chapter 1”. The film is about a young couple who move to the Pacific Northwest with hopes of starting a new life. Unfortunately, their plans take a terrifying turn when their car breaks down, forcing them to stay in a remote vacation home. Things get worse when they become the targets of three masked murderers who relentlessly stalk them.
The latest installment is co-written by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland, who are known for their work in The Freak Brothers and Due Date. The movie is being produced by Courtney Solomon (Cake and the After film franchise), Mark Canton (Power Universe and 300), Christopher Milburn (The Protégé and Unhinged), Gary Raskin (Midway), Charlie Dombeck (The War with Grandpa) and Alastair Birlingham (Moonfall). The executive producer includes Andrei Boncea, Dorothy Canton, Roy Lee, and Rafaella Biscayn while co-produced by Frame Film SK based in Slovakia, Johanna Harlin, Juan Garcia Peredo, and Alberto Burgueno.
Lionsgate is set to distribute an upcoming horror film series titled “The Strangers.” The first chapter of the series, also known as “Chapter 1,” is scheduled to release in theaters worldwide on May 17, 2024. The series will also include two additional chapters, “Chapter 2” and “Chapter 3,” which are scheduled to be released in 2024.
