NETFLIX ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE DATE OF THE MOST AWAITED SHOW BASED ON THE LIFE OF THE RAPPER, SINGER AND ACTOR ‘VINCE STAPLES’.
There is no need to introduce Vince Staples in this space. Still, for those who have yet to learn about this person, we would give you a brief introduction anyway- Vince Staple is an American rapper and singer from Long Beach, California. Also, he released a self-titled album in 2021.
Vince Staples announced the partnership with Netflix in 2021, stating, “I am excited to partner with Netflix and Kenya Barris on The Vince Staples Show. This has been something I have been developing for some time, and I am happy it’s coming to fruition.”
The Vince Staples show is based on his life; he plays himself alongside other co-stars in each episode featuring Vanessa Bell Calloway and Andrea Ellsworth. Also, Rick Ross made a brief cameo appearance. Creator credits go to Vince Staples with Lan Edelman and Maurice Williams. Calmatic directs the show, featuring guest appearances from Buddy and Ray J.
The mini-comedy series, which includes only five episodes, will debut on February 15 on premium Netflix.
According to Netflix, the show, loosely inspired by Staples’s life, The Vince Staples Show, is set in his hometown of Long Beach, California. He portrays a fictional version of himself and narrates the challenges and surprises of everyday life in his hometown of The Beach. The show previews the scene of an on-foot chase, a gunshot, a beatdown at the hands of a mascot, and a bank robbery where he is repeatedly asked – ‘Who is He?’.
