Netflix dropped the trailer for the shark thriller Under Paris, helmed by French filmmaker Xavier Gens, best known for his work in Gangs of London and Mayhem. It will be released on June 5.

Set in the Summer of 2024, the film unfolds in Paris which is hosting the World Triathlon Championships on the Seine for the first time. Sophia, a brilliant scientist, learns from Mika, a young environmental activist, that a large shark is swimming deep in the river. To avoid a bloodbath at the heart of the city, they have no choice but to join forces with Adil, the Seine river police commander.

Approx. two-minute trailer offers a glimpse into an upcoming film. The trailer depicts the discovery of a shark in the Seine river, and the collaboration between a marine scientist and a young activist to prevent chaos in the city as the shark terrorizes the citizens. Moreover, the implementation of the plan to capture the shark puts an army of soldiers at risk, and numerous scenes of violence and bloodshed are shown.

The movie features an ensemble cast including Bérénice Bejo, Nassim Lyes, Léa Léviant, Iñaki Lartigue, and José Antonio Pedrosa Moreno.

Gens penned the screenplay with Yaël Langmann, Yannick Dahan, and Maud Heywang. Sebastien Auscher produced the film, with Nicolas Massart responsible for cinematography, Riwanon Le Beller for editing, and Stéphanie Doncker for casting. Other notable credits include Hubert Pouille for Production Design, Nicolas Prono for Art Direction, and Ilse Willocx for Set Decoration.
